A little bit about me before we move forward- I grew up in India and now call Aberdeen, UK my home. My journey across these two different worlds has shaped how I see health. In India, I learned the value of yoga, ayurveda, simple mindful living and the importance of balance. Here in Aberdeen, away from the comfort and familiarity, I have discovered new ways of caring for myself and appreciating health in a different environment. Samagra means whole/holistic in Sanskrit, and for me it represents the idea that health is not just about the body, also about the mind, the emotions and the little thing we do every day to feel well.
Alongside my current professional role as a Health Coach and Yoga teacher, I have done PhD in health communication and evidence based practices have been important to me. So while this blog will reflect my own experiences and thoughts, I will also share ideas and practices that are backed by research. This space is for anyone who, like me, finds strength in quiet. You do not have to be loud to live well. Sometimes the most powerful shifts in health happen in the smallest, gentlest moments.
Through this blog, you can expect a mix of personal stories, simple health practices that make life feel harmonious, insights from both Indian traditions and everyday life in Scotland, as well as evidence-based articles that draw on research in health and wellbeing.
